It would be great if there was a way to be able to set different sizes for each photo within a set as a lot of photographers use composite images of different dimensions in their posts.

Or to be able to display each photo within a set at their true dimension so that composite images are not distorted.
Nevermind I just worked out how to do it. Turn image letter boxing on fixes this. Feel free to delete my request. Sorry :)
hmmm, letterboxing, is that what it does? OK, well, guess I have an idea for built in help... posting up here in the next few.
Hmmm, nope, does not help one bit. When I maximize the photo is still cropped. It shoudl go into lights out mode where the background is grayed out and the photo left the to maximum size WITHOUT croppign.
whats the standart size of images to put into the boxes?
@chrysyel -- my personal suggestion would be images where the longest side is 1600 pixels and using server-side resampling to auto-magically create the subset of your image. blogshow now supports retina (and all other high ppi displays), so as long as your server has the power to crunch the images, i say upload big and let the server do the work for you.
otherwise, 900px wide is about industry standard i think.
